Discuss and define the principles of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacotherapeutics as it relates to the neonate.
Identify the unique growth and gestational maturational changes in the neonate that influence the absorption, distribution, metabolic, and excretion (ADME) properties.
Discuss the nursing and pharmacological implications associated with neonatal drug administration including routes of administration, and dosage calculations.
Describe the proper measurement and interpretation of drug concentrations as it relates to therapeutic drug monitoring in the neonate.
Recognize common medications used in the NICU.
Discuss/describe the constellation of factors affecting withdrawal in newborns with perinatal substance exposure.
